Term 4 - Let's Get Cooking
Mother's Day - date to be arranged.
Let's Get Cooking
Once a term, parents and children get the chance to cook alongside each other, to prepare and cook a selection of recipes. The hall is set up into 3 or 4 work stations, and each group cooks a different recipe. At the end of the session, all of the children sit together and taste each other's food - sharing a meal together.
Please look at the photos below, to see what fun we all have cooking together. The recipes are all saved on this page, so go on, and try some of them at home.

Chinese New Year
To celebrate Chinese New Year on Saturday 28th January, we cooked chicken sweet and sour, vegetable chow mein and cream cheese wantons (sweet and savoury.) The food was delicious and we all tried very hard to eat using chopsticks!
Mother's Day Brunch
We had lots of fun making a selection of treats to cook for a Mother's Day Brunch this Sunday. We made some sweet raspberry pastries in the shape of pinwheels; delicious French toast fruit kebabs with strawberries and blueberries; breakfast sizzler muffins with bacon and Parmesan cheese; and Boston baked beans on toast. We had a complete feast!
Christmas Sweet Treats!
We celebrated the start of the festive season on the 1st December, by cooking a selection of delicious sweet treats; mince pies; Christmas Tree Pops; cranberry and white chocolate cookies and snowball sweets. There were 4 groups who cooked the above recipes, but everyone had a go at developing their own piping skills, by decorating thier own christmas tree pop.
We Love Vegetables!
We enjoyed our first ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ session this year, celebrating harvest. We used a selection of vegetables in our recipes - stuffed potato skins (using sour cream, bacon, cheese and chives), carrot muffins and classic ratatouille. The hall was filled with a busy team of cooks from all year groups, who worked hard together, to cook a delicious shared meal for the end of the day.
