Music at Amesbury Archer Primary School
Music at Amesbury Archer plays an important part in the school curriculum for all children. Through topic based learning, all pupils have the opportunity to sing and perform together, to listen and respond to a range of recorded and live material and to create their own compositions. In Year 3, all children learn to play the recorder. Music provision is supported by the music subject leader, along with the Wiltshire Music Hub. We adhere to the 2014 National Curriculum alongside the National Plan for Music.
In addition to class music, visiting peripatetic teachers offer recorder, flute, violin and guitar lessons to pupils.
Singing is an important part of our music provision at Amesbury Archer School. House Days provide opportunities for the school to come together to sing. Children are encouraged to perform together as well as to others through Class Assemblies, EYFS and Key Stage One Christmas performances, the Year Six summer production and the school talent shows!
