At Amesbury Archer we follow the Wiltshire agreed syllabus for R.E. This promotes an enquiry based approach which is designed to encourage our pupils to think and question. We aim to make sure the curriculum is challenging, creative and relevant.
In the foundation stage, R.E is taught through topics based upon children’s own lives and experiences. During KS1, the study of Christianity is introduced and aspects of Judaism are taught. In KS2, the study of Christianity continues and religious beliefs and practices within Islam and Hinduism are explored. We aim for children to develop an understanding and respect for religious beliefs, values and practices of other people in the world around them. We also endeavour for our children to develop a sensitive attitude towards others and support their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
